The first bit of sunshine for 2012 – so it was a walk on the beach with the my husband and the dog. At the mouth of the Whaingaroa Harbour there is a rock that appears periodically when the sea washes the sand away. When Britt was a toddler we used to come swim here at Elephant Rock. Now she is 15 and it is back again like it was then. The raw beauty and force of nature leaves me spellbound and in awe.
You just have to love where you live … … and we do … …

Happy Easter everyone. We spent our Easter swimming at Goat Island – it’s a marine reserve north of Auckland and was amazing. Unfortunately someone left the underwater camera in the car, but there are a few goodies from the beach. We all had an amazing day, but I think we caught the warm weather just in time because it is freezing here now! Thanks Mum, Trisha, Luki, Daniel, Britty and Lexi for being such willing and amazing models (gotta love your family huh?).

It’s been a beautiful weekend and this evening was pure bliss - so off we went to the end of the road at the edge of Lorenzen Bay, glass of wine in hand, good friends and kids riding around on their bikes – all that was missing was the fish and chips!
This is the life – our own little Eden in NZ … … …

I have just been in the garden, with the sun setting, the light was soft and it is the best time to look at all the plants that just grow in there (because anyone who knows me knows that I am no gardener!)
Here is what I found … … …
