The rain stayed away and it was perfect on the beach for Karlene & Yohay to say their vows and marry each other.

Here are the photos to prove it …

It’s always sad when someone who is loved so much has to leave …

… days like this you tend to look around you through different eyes. ¬†There are people carrying on like nothing has happened. ¬†They still whinge about the same old (unimportant) stuff. ¬†Their husband didn’t put the toilet seat down, their kids are not getting high marks at school (never mind that they are really nice kids who are happy), their bank account is empty (dah – you are driving a really flash car that uses way to much petrol). ¬†they hate their job (hey – just be grateful you have one). ¬†Some people are so unhappy with what they have that their mouth is permanently turned down and when they do try to smile it scares small children …¬†

… Can’t the world see that there are people out there with real hurts, worries, sadness and losses? Can’t we just stop and appreciate what we have?

On Thursday the world lost a beautiful, loving, giving and kind woman, mother, wife, friend and support person.  The hardest part is thinking about who she has had to leave Рit would have broken her heart to have to go so soon.  Life is unfair Рwhy do the good people have to suffer?

Janet – you will always be remembered for your thoughtfulness, willingness to put others before yourself, your baking! (oh yes – those cakes!!!), your cheeky laugh, those unexpected swear words that just popped out when you least expected them, your wicked sense of humor, your calming influence and the fact that any time anything at all went wrong there was only one thing to say …

… … … Here’s to you … … …

One Sunday at the park … …

One of the hardest things I have ever had to do – sit in the backseat and be driven around by my daughter and her friend! But at least we went to the park for a photo shoot. ¬†Sometimes I wonder if maybe they are just using me for my camera? Nah – surely they just love to spend quality time with me? ¬†Oh well – never mind – at least they look good in the pics. ¬†Here’s to Britty and Kate ..

Party like it’s your birthday …

Was recently asked to photograph a 13 year old’s birthday party. I forgot how much fun it was being that age! So much laughing, dancing and having a blast…

ANZAC Day … …

25th April is the day we remember those who have been to war and went to fight for our freedom. ¬†We remember those who came home and those who died. ¬†We honor those who risked it all so that we can be free to be who we are … … Thank you … …

Last of the summer swimming …

Happy Easter everyone. ¬†We spent our Easter swimming at Goat Island – it’s a marine reserve north of Auckland and was amazing. ¬†Unfortunately someone left the underwater camera in the car, but there are a few goodies from the beach. ¬†We all had an amazing day, but I think we caught the warm weather just in time because it is freezing here now! ¬†Thanks Mum, Trisha, Luki, Daniel, Britty and Lexi for being such willing and amazing models (gotta love your family huh?).
