Introducing a newcomer to photography …

Here are some amazing photographs from my 9 year old nephew Finn Geraets.  He lives up in the big city of Auckland.  He and his Dad spend a lot of time in and around the gardens and parks.

When Finn isn’t busy playing rugby or skateboarding he manages to catch these beautiful images.

Keep an eye out for more of Finn’s pictures as he sends them through.  Enjoy … …

Rainbow … …

After todays random thunder storm we were all treated to this … …

Photo shoot with two of the most beautiful children I know …

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of having a photo shoot with two beautiful and inquisitive models.  I thought black and white was such a great way to show them, they had fun exploring the garden and hardly noticed I was following them around … …

… Oh to be young again!

More merged photos …

A few of more more recent favorites taken out and about in Raglan …

Looking across Whaingaroa Harbor from the Wharf

On the wharf looking across to Lorenzen Bay

Raglan Wharf and one of the best fish and chip shops in town … … … All this sadly burnt to the ground on Tuesday morning, 13 April 2010.  So much loss, buildings, personal treasures, jobs and a piece of Raglan history.

Whaingaroa at the end of a perfect day … … …

It’s been a beautiful weekend and this evening was pure bliss  –  so off we went to the end of the road at the edge of Lorenzen Bay, glass of wine in hand, good friends and kids riding around on their bikes – all that was missing was the fish and chips!

This is the life – our own little Eden in NZ … … …

Natures smile … … …

I have just been in the garden, with the sun setting, the light was soft and it is the best time to look at all the plants that just grow in there (because anyone who knows me knows that I am no gardener!)

Here is what I found … … …

Whaingaroa … … our home

This is a set of photos merged together to make one large panoramic photo showing the sun setting over Mt Karioi and the ocean through to the Whaingaroa Harbor mouth – what a beautiful place we call home!

Playing with the fullmoon on New Years Eve … … …

New Years Eve 2009 – sitting on the deck watching the moon come out and then having a play – best way to see in the new year – Happy 2010 everyone!

Panarama shots from Ngaranui Beach

This weekend was stormy and rainy, best time to photograph the beach!  Here are some shots I merged using photoshop … … …

My new camera ….

Yay – I have moved into the realm of ‘a bit more serious than before’ photographer!  I have now got a new camera – Gotta love the Nikon!  I am so ‘in love’ with it and the photos I can now take … Here is a few of my ‘practice’ shots … what do you think?

Whaingaroa's very own 'Flash Mob'

This one is a shot of Whaingaroa’s very own “Flash Mob” that was organised to celebrate 350 day on Saturday 24 October 2009.  There were lots of events held around the world on this day to raise the awareness of the 350 campaign.  Check it out – it is an important issue that we ALL need to be aware of and do something about – after all – it is our future.
