Finally it is the summer holidays and I have a chance to play around with photo shop. Stay tuned – there will be more before the holidays are over … … …

Things that are broken – a photography challenge …

Every week I get an email from the Digital Photography School with lots of interesting articles, tips and challenges.  I just couldn’t let this one go past without giving it a go. (and if you know me at all you will know that there is no shortage of broken things at my house)

The dog photo is included in this post – not because she is broken – but because she is really peeved with me, I just gave her a bath and she wouldn’t look at me or acknowledge me for the entire afternoon – I think I might be forgiven now, but I have no way of telling because she is fast asleep in front of the heater (with her back to me oddly enough!?)  Oh well, I am sure I will be the love of her life again tomorrow at breakfast time.

Enjoy the post … can you tell what each photograph is of?

Last of the summer swimming …

Happy Easter everyone.  We spent our Easter swimming at Goat Island – it’s a marine reserve north of Auckland and was amazing.  Unfortunately someone left the underwater camera in the car, but there are a few goodies from the beach.  We all had an amazing day, but I think we caught the warm weather just in time because it is freezing here now!  Thanks Mum, Trisha, Luki, Daniel, Britty and Lexi for being such willing and amazing models (gotta love your family huh?).

Celebrating People, Good times and Love … … …

It is always a good time to celebrate…  Celebrate the little things… Celebrate the big things … Making memories forever …

Tell someone special today why you treasure them … make their day …

Weddings are so much fun …

New Plymouth was the destination.  Megan and Anthony were the bride and groom.  What a beautiful wedding.  What a beautiful day!

Aroha nui to you both for a lifetime of kisses and treasured memories …

Te Uku Wind farm

Went on a huge adventure with school the other day – all the way up to the Te Uku Wind farm.

There are 28 turbines up here and the view is amazing.  All the way from Kawhia and Aotea Harbor – through to Karioi, Whaingaroa, Te Uku and Waitetuna.

AMAZING!

Raglan Off Road Challenge …

Saturday  23 October 2010.  The Raglan Off Road Challenge was amazing.  Great weather and an awesome course with views to die for.  Kayak, run and bike.

Here are some of the pics from the day.  If there are any photographs you like just contact me about purchasing them.  Also contact me if there is anything you think I might have captured on film that aren’t on here.  Keep posted as I will add more photos over the next week or so.  Also check out my Facebook page.  Linda Holmes Photography (I am the one from New Zealand not Texas!?)

Cheers

Wild Windy Raglan

The storm that was churning 1000km South West off New Zealand really did deliver the winds and swell they promised.  The ocean was amazing and there were times just standing up was a mission …

Karioi in the middle of winter …

Today in Raglan we had the 1st annual Karioi Classic.  A 50 km bike ride around the base of Mount Karioi.  It was an amazingly beautiful day.  Lots of hard work was done to ensure the whole event was a success – Great job guys!
