Playing with my camera last night in the dark on the road with two teenagers (yeah, yeah – I am such a responsible adult!?) But I really like some of these results – kinda looks like someone is trying to get through hehehe … … …
This one was taken with an extra slow shutter speed. I had a car drive through just as I was about to snap the camera and then made the girls go stand in the spot where the car was – This result is really spooky.

Every year one of our local families always puts on a spectacular fireworks display. This year they took their boat out into Whaingaroa Harbour and gave us all a real show. Thanks Gun and Adam – once again you guys put on an awesome display.
As much as I love living here in Raglan, I sometimes forget about the little things that make it that extra special place … like the power cuts!
Friday night the girls and I are settled in, on the couch, watching TV when all of a sudden it all goes black! Oh dear. We haven’t had a power cut in Raglan for ages and now we wont know who gets sent home on Tyra’s Next Top Model show!
But not ones to let an opportunity pass, we quickly get as many candles as we can find in the dark and huddle together (comparing feet of all things!? hmmm) When suddenly Mama (me) decides to pull out the camera. So here are a few choice shots to share with you from our night in the dark.
PS: Yes, when Dad came home it was still dark and he scared the ‘bejesus’ out of us because we didn’t hear the car! grrrrr
